And Swift also spoke about the inspo behind her latest scent, saying, "The story behind Incredible Things, the title of the campaign, the fragrance, and basically the inspiration behind it, was that I really like to derive fragrance titles from my lyrics, because the lyrics are kind of the basis for my life. There's a lyric in the new record in a song called 'Blank Space' that says, 'Nice to meet you, where you been, I could show you incredible things.'"
The singer also wanted this scent to be bold, saying, "I think one of my favorite things about this fragrance is that we wanted to go with something bold. If I were to put symbolism to each one of the fragrances, the ones before now would have represented love, and in my mind, this one represents life."
Swift loves "the kind of images that we've used for this fragrance are based on watercolors that I've made. I would never have started painting watercolor if I didn't decide that I was going to pursue whatever I loved in life, whether it was something simple like painting, not because you think you're any good at it, but because you like it and it makes your life more beautiful."
That's a lovely way to be!
Swift's favorite part of the shoot was "working with Cass because I've never worked with her before and I'm a big fan of her work. She's very low key and very free-form. She's very much on your side and on your team and gets on your level and plays cool music, that was a really great experience for me. Also, getting to see the bottle and hold it, after we've been conceptualizing the fragrance for a very long time, was wonderful. I had a really good hair and makeup team; they switched my part from this side of my head to this side of my head which was a big deal for me…"
Parting is such sweet sorrow, in more ways than one. But anyone attached to their hair KNOWS that the switching of a part is a big deal.
And as for why she likes to paint? "Painting is interesting for me. I don't do it because I think I'm any good at it; I do it because I love it. I've started to do more things like that recently. In my teens, I was scared to ever do anything that I wasn't very good at, especially not publicly. So, for me to paint, something really simple, I'm not bragging like I think it’s good, I just know I loved creating it. And I think that that's where everything started with me with music, I just did it because I loved it."
All. The. Right. Reasons.
