Did anyone hear about the eclipse this week? Somehow it slipped over us while we were busying scouring the internet for any information on Taylor Swift's new single. Okay, we didn't really forget the eclipse, but when it comes to rare occurrences, fresh music from Tay ranks on a similar level as an astronomical event.

It wasn't only Swift who dropped new music this week. Thirty Seconds to Mars did their best to grab attention from the sun with their first new material in over four years, and Syd continued her already impressive 2017 by delivering a new track.

Cults kept the hype going around their forthcoming album with another terrific release, and Action Bronson teamed up with Rick Ross for good old fashion hip hop. So without further ado, here are ARTISTdirect's top songs of the week.

Taylor Swift — "Look What You Made Me Do"

The only thing that really needs to be said about Taylor Swift is she knows how to deliver. Her star is so large that it almost overshadowed this week's total solar eclipse when she dropped a very short clip simply featuring a reptile tail. Obviously that kind of fanfare creates huge expectations, but that's something Tay Tay has grown used to over the years. This week she announced her new album, Reputation, would be out in November and debuted its first single. It didn't disappoint.

Thirty Seconds to Mars — "Walk On Water"

In their own attempt to out shine the eclipse, Thirty Seconds to Mars debut their first new song in over four years. "WALK ON WATER is a song for all of us. It's a song about freedom, about persistence, about change and about fighting for what you believe in,"vocalist Jared Leto said in a statement about the track. "It is a call to arms but also full of all the optimism and hope that is such an integral part of the American Dream."

Syd — "Bad Dream/No Looking Back"

Syd delivered her debut solo LP, Fin, back in February. The singer, who has already been nominated for a GRAMMY as a member of The Internet, immediately received acclaim from fans and critics. However, it doesn't seem like she is planning on slowing down anytime soon as this week dropped "Bad Dream/No Looking Back". Syd also announced a "feature soundtrack." What exactly that is, still remains unknown.

Cults — "I Took Your Picture"

Cults delivered the second single from their upcoming album, Offering. The track is sure to get you dancing, even when you're at your lowest. The band said of the song, "‘I Took Your Picture' was inspired by falling into a deeper love with 80's power pop bands like The Motels and The Cars. It's a song about fleeting moments and how we let past feelings interrupt the possibility for good things to happen. 'Tinge of blue, to the end, left our hearts, with regrets, I'm learning.' It's a daily struggle to try and stay open and available but it's probs worth it. And you can dance to it!"

Action Bronson — "9-24-7000" [ft. Rick Ross]

Today, Action Bronson unveiled his new studio album, Blue Chips 7000. And earlier this week he gave us a sneak peek via "9-24-7000". The track features Bronson doing a whole lot of what seems like posturing, but the rapper deserves to strut. It was announced this week that he will be hosting his own dating show, "Hungry Hearts", on Viceland, and has a new cookbook coming in September. The new song just goes to prove that Bronson is a man of many talents.
