Taylor Swift to Release "1989" on October 27

Taylor Swift wasn't just born in 1989. She is naming her new album after the year of her birth.
T. Swizzle will release her new album 1989 via Big Machine Records on October 27. The album is available immediately for pre-buy on TaylorSwift.com, iTunes and Target. The first single for her fifth album is "Shake It Off."
It's a modern du-wop song, heavy on the pop, light on the country. In fact, it's zero on the country, devoid of all twang, sort of like "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" was back in 2012. Swift even called 1989 her first official pop album, even though Red was pretty pop.
Check out "Shake It Off" below. It's cute and fun.
"I spent two years making 1989," Swift said. "Two years gives you enough time to grow and change and let things inspire you. I was listening to a lot of late '80s pop music and how bold those songs were and how that time period was a time of limitless possibilities. In thinking about that, this album is a rebirth for me. This is my very first documented, official pop album. 1989 is the most sonically cohesive album I have ever made and my favorite album I have ever made."
As for "Shake It Off," Swift said, "Over the last few years, I've learned a very important lesson. We cannot control what people say about us but we can control how we react to it. We can let it get to us, make us bitter, even drive us insane or we can shake it off."
Swift also surprised fans by revealing the 1989 Swiftstakes™. The 'stakes gives fans an opportunity to win prizes that include 1,000 tickets and 500 meet and greets.
Details on that promotion are at TaylorSwift.com.
A deluxe version of the album will include three additional songs and three songwriting voice memos. These memos are personal audio recordings that offer a unique insight into Swift's songwriting process and document the early creation of three songs on 1989, which are available at Target stores in both the U.S. and Canada.
How intimate and awesome.
1989 album configurations include:

Oh, and if you love T. Swizzle's style, Keds introduced the Sneaky Cat, a purrfectly adorable update to the brand's iconic Champion silhouette, created specifically to celebrate Swift's new album.
Taylor and 1989 have their own shoe, y'all...although we can't say "y'all" anymore, since Swift has sidestepped the country genre with 1989...at least with the first single. But she did call it a "pop" album, so that's what we expect when we hear the WHOLE thing.

Who is excited about 1989? We are.
