Tenacious D, the irreverent comedy-music duo made up of Jack Black and Kyle Gass, has launched an auction of band memorabilia and stage props to benefit Eagle of Death Metal's John Homme's Sweet Stuff Foundation and the victims of the Paris terror attacks.
The auction is currently live at Charity Buzz, and is slated to close on January 5th, 2016. So get bidding!
Among the items up for bid are a couple of framed posters from a 2001 charity gig with Spinal Tap, "The Metal" costume featured in the song "The Pick of Destiny," as well as the movie of the same name, and various stage props from the Rize of the Fenix and Pick of Destiny tours.
According to its website, the Sweet Stuff Foundation was "founded to give assistance to career musicians, recording engineers and their families struggling with illness and disability." In the wake of the Paris attacks, the foundation announced that all donations made through December 31 will go to the surviving families of the 89 music fans killed at the Bataclan theater during the Eagles of Death Metal show there Friday, November 13.
"Our friend Josh Homme asked if Tenacious D would participate in the awareness and fund raising campaign in the wake of the recent attacks," Tenacious D recently told Billboard. "We were eager to join the cause. This is our small but heartfelt contribution."
