Death. Taxes. TABB x NYC's Beacon. Those are all inevitable, although the latter is likely the only one we look forward to, although things will be markedly different next year…in light of the news that we just shared about the exits of Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks.
Still, The Allman Brothers Band are celebrating 45 years as a unit. The band will mark the occasion of making nearly five decades of rock with their annual residency at New York's Beacon Theatre. They will commandeer the venue for a 10-gig residency that launches March 7. Check for tickets via The Beacon Theatre's website.
The band has performed at the storied location for more than 220 times since 1989. Whoa! They are the Beacon House Band.
Gregg Allman says he is still into the residency even though it numbers nearly 230 shows at this point, saying, "Spontaneous things still happen. Going through the motions would be a real bore. I know a band that plays the same songs in the same order, they even say the same shit at the same time every night. But, no, we're all still real into it.”
Amen to that, (Allman) Brother(s).
Have you see TABB live yet or during a NYC residency? If so, how were they? Anyone feel urgency to see this year's residency due to the exit of Haynes and Trucks?
