The Amity Affliction "Chasing Ghosts" Song Review — 4.5 out of 5 stars
Tue, 28 Aug 2012 10:06:02
The Amity Affliction could very well cure heavy music.
The Australian quartet fuses together spacey, soaring hooks courtesy of bassist Ahren Stringer and Joel Birch's gruff delivery for a dual vocal assault that's divinely deadly on "Chasing Ghosts". The first single from the band's forthcoming album of the same name, available via Roadrunner Records October 2, haunts and hypnotizes with a corrosively catchy cocktail of thrash riffs, hardcore intensity, and all-encompassing synths and keyboards.
Not since Deftones and Killswitch Engage fused melody and mayhem on Around the Fur and Alive or Just Breathing respectively has a band been this harmoniously destructive. "Chasing Ghosts" will possess you in the best way possible, and The Amity Affliction will be your new favorite band.
Chasing Ghosts stands primed to be one of the year's best…
