This past Saturday in Atlanta at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, The Black Crowers were honored by their home state when they were inducted into the Georgia Music Hall Of Fame at the 32nd Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards Show. Lest you forget, lanky singer Chris Robinson is the former husband and baby daddy of actress Kate Hudson.
The Crowes are also commemorating the 20th anniversary of their landmark multi-platinum debut, 1990's Shake Your Moneymaker with Croweology, their first-ever double album of all-acoustic material with new arrangements of their best-loved songs and deep cuts. The band will take an extended hiatus after their current four-month North American tour ends in December with an epic six-night stand in San Francisco at The Fillmore which starts on December 12 and runs through 19. Didn't they take an extended break for many years before reuniting?
"This is the first time in 20 years that we've all washed our hair on the same day," noted singer Robinson at Saturday's induction. Now that's what I call true rock ‘n' roll grit.
What is your favorite Black Crowes song? "Jealous Again?" "Hard to Handle?" "She Talks to Angels?" I love all three.
