Vintage is so right now, especially when it comes to musical equipment and gear. What's old is new again.
"It" band The Black Keys used a variety of vintage instruments and recording equipment to make their upcoming studio album, El Camino. In an interview with AmericanSongwriter.com, the band took the mag site on a tour through its Nashville, Tennessee studio, showing off all the old school devices used to make the new record.
Singer Dan Auerbach, who played seven different old electric guitars on El Camino, says a 1950s Harmony Stratotone is his favorite and that particular guitar can be heard on El Camino as well as in every album the duo has made to date. It's the common thread between the past and the current.
El Camino drops on Dec. 6.
