Grammy award-winning act The Civil Wars are next to take the Unplugged stage for the Grammy® and Emmy® award-winning series, Unplugged, now back for the 2012 season, with State Farm serving as exclusive digital sponsor. The episode, which features a five-song set, plus one digital-only exclusive, will debut on Tuesday, May 1 on www.Unplugged.VH1.com beginning at 11 AM EST, on-air on Wednesday, May 2 at 6PM EST on VH1 and Saturday, May 5 at 9PM EST on Palladia.

Joy Williams and John Paul White, the duo behind The Civil Wars, combine hauntingly gorgeous vocals and an acoustic atmosphere that naturally caters to their element on the VH1 Unplugged stage. With each song serving as an intimate conversation, the performance features the poignant tracks "Poison & Wine,""Barton Hollow" and "I've Got This Friend" from their February 2011 debut album, Barton Hollow, as well as "Kingdom Come" from The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12, as well as an awesomely sultry rendition of Portishead's "Sour Times." VH1.com will feature an exclusive digital-only performance "20 Years," along with an exclusive behind the scenes interview with band.

"This has been a surreal, rewarding year for us," said The Civil Wars. "And following in the footsteps of some of our favorites like Nirvana, Eric Clapton and LL Cool J is an honor and further encouragement to take the Unplugged stage, performing our fan favorites and something unexpected!"
