The Darkness are returning to the United States for another tour. After electrifying North American stages last fall, the band are coming back to provide music lovers with another dose of their mythical glam rock. The tour is in support of their most recent record, Last of Our Kind, which was released last June via Canary Dwarf.
The Back To The USSA tour kicks off April 8th at Santa Cruz, California's The Catalyst. The Darkness will play 20 shows across the U.S., finishing off the concert series May 4th at Boston, Massachusetts' Paradise Rock Club. The tour includes stops in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, Chicago, New York City, and a host of other cities that are looking to have their socks rocked off.
Last of Our Kind is The Darkness' fourth studio album, following up 2012's Hot Cakes. Hot Cakes was the first album since 2005's One Way Ticket to Hell… and Back. The band currently consists of all four founding members, Justin Hawkins (vocals, guitar), Dan Hawkins (guitar), Frankie Poullain (bass), and Rufus Taylor (drums). The band has made no announcements about any new album on the horizon, but did release a Christmas single, "I Am Santa," last December.
The Darkness are known for the impressive live performances. Lead vocalist and guitarist Hawkins said about the upcoming tour, "If music and good times are in your soul, come see us perform live. A Darkness show is a place where believers come together, where fluids are shared and dreams are built. But most importantly, rock and roll is crowned king EVERY NIGHT!"
