The Doors' "L.A. Woman" to See Reissue Next Year

L.A. Woman will be reissued early in 2012 as part of a two-year campaign celebrating The Doors' storied and impressive career! However, this release is special due to its odds and sodds, which aren't available for other albums being re-released.
Guitarist Robby Krieger told our pals at Billboard that the reissue will boast outtakes, bonus cover songs and more, but such is the case for this particular release and not the rest of the forthcoming reissues. He said, "I wish we could, but very few outtakes exist. It's really a catastrophe; Elektra, being a small label, they took a lot of our masters, our 8-track and 16-track tapes, and bulk-erased them so they could use them for other bands to record on. So very few outtakes remain. The stuff on L.A. Woman was just an amazing find." Oh man, that sucks. So much was lost due to the reuse of tapes.
Better something than nothing for at least one album!
