    • The Doors - VILLACANAS, SPAIN - NOVEMBER 23: A man plays his guitar trying to make money on an empty Plaza Mayor on November 23, 2012 in Villacanas, Spain. During the boom years, where in its peak Spain built some 800,000 houses a year accompanied by the manufacturing of millions of wooden doors where needed, the people of Villacanas were part of Spain's middle class enjoying high wages and permanent jobs. During the construction boom years the majority of the doors used within these new developments were made in this small industrial town. Approximately seven million doors a year were once assembled here and the factory employed a workforce of almost 5700 people, but the town is now left almost desolate with the Villacanas industrial park now empty and redundant. With Spain in the grip of recession and the housing bubble burst, Villacanas is typical of many former buoyant industrial Spanish towns now struggling with huge unemployment problems.

L.A. Woman will be reissued early in 2012 as part of a two-year campaign celebrating The Doors' storied and impressive career! However, this release is special due to its odds and sodds, which aren't available for other albums being re-released.

Guitarist Robby Krieger told our pals at Billboard that the reissue will boast outtakes, bonus cover songs and more, but such is the case for this particular release and not the rest of the forthcoming reissues. He said, "I wish we could, but very few outtakes exist. It's really a catastrophe; Elektra, being a small label, they took a lot of our masters, our 8-track and 16-track tapes, and bulk-erased them so they could use them for other bands to record on. So very few outtakes remain. The stuff on L.A. Woman was just an amazing find." Oh man, that sucks. So much was lost due to the reuse of tapes.

Better something than nothing for at least one album!

What is your favorite The Doors song?
