The Duke Spirit Bring "Neptune" To U.S.

Headed by sultry tomboy-cum-frontwoman Liela Moss, England's The Duke Spirit are poised to be your favorite band of 2008. No, they're not new—their debut album Cuts Across the Land was hailed by critics and fans internationally—but they are seasoned performers with one hell of a track record. The band has just released their sophomore album, Neptune, in their British homeland, but now they're ready to bring the tunes stateside. This pan-Atlantic trek is appropriate, as the band recorded Neptune in the famed Joshua Tree recording studio with producer Chris Goss, famous for his work with Queens of the Stone Age.
The band will be hitting both coasts, as well as stopping by Austin for a showcase at the SXSW music festival. The band will be back in the U.S. this spring with a full set of tour dates. Neptune, and all of its fog-tinged, lovelorn retro-blues, will hit U.S. stores on April 8 via Shangri-La Music. But if you can't wait til then, the band has a full stream of the album on their label's official site.
