The Flaming Lips Videos
The third week of November was filled with stunning new eye candy in the form of new music videos. Drake went lo-fi with 21 Savages collaboration, "Sneakin'", one of four cuts we've heard from his upcoming More Life project. Meanwhile, Jimmy Eat World continued their return to form with a video for "Sure and Certain", the first single off their most recently released record.
The Flaming Lips went heavy with the blur on their video for "How??". The band is set to release their next album, Oczy Mlody, in January, and this fiery, fuzzy video sets quite the tone for the upcoming record. And that was only the beginning for a week filled with eye popping new music videos.
Here are our favorites:
Jimmy Eat World - "Sure and Certain"
Jimmy Eat World returns in otherworldly fashion in the video for "Sure and Certain". But it all might be happening inside the frame of a dancer's living room painting. Whether inside or outside the box it doesn't matter, the band is going to keep working to achieve what they came for.
Drake - "Sneakin'"
If you ever wanted a tour of Drake's Hidden Hills mansion, "Sneakin'" might be where to start. Featuring some of Drake's favorite things, Ferrari's, his pool, and big bootie ladies, it's clear that despite the lo-fi film quality, the rapper leads a pretty lavish life.
The Flaming Lips - "How??"
There's a heavy dose of WTF on The Flaming Lips new video for "How?"" Fuzzy suits, skin tight onesies, fireworks, bizarre two wheelers, sparkling lit rainbow sunglasses, it's all here, proving that the band continues to push the bounds of perception.
Alicia Keys - "Blended Family (What You Do For Love)" [ft. A$AP Rocky]
After debuting her new video for "Blended Family (What You Do For Love)", Alicia Keys tweeted, "Inclusion makes us stronger and in the name of love, we will rise." It's a heartwarming video, and Keys explains the song's meaning best, "My new song 'Blended Family (What You Do For Love)' is inspired by my family's personal journey to cultivate deeper understanding, compassion, support and love. To me, the word 'family' has no singular definition and the modern family is made up of all kinds of beautiful people of different walks of life willing to put love first."
The Chemical Brothers - "C-h-e-m-i-c-a-l"
Besides the animation, The Chemical Brothers' video for "C-h-e-m-i-c-a-l" is simple and one even may say low-budget. But The Brothers have always used simplicity as one of their sharpest weapons, and the dancing creatures seen throughout make every frame worth its time.
