    • The Kinks - LONDON, ENGLAND - FEBRUARY 24: Band members relax backstage at the 100 Club on February 24, 2011 in London, England. Since it's opening in 1942, the 100 club has hosted many artists such as B.B.King, the Rolling Stones, the Kinks, Oasis, and the Sex Pistols to name but a few. The club had recently been threatened with closure, because of financial pressures as have many smaller fringe clubs across the country, but after a high-profile campaign supported by Sir Paul McCartney and Ronnie Wood, a recent sponsorship deal with the shoe company Converse has saved the 100 Club from an uncertain future.

The collaboration album that The Kinks' Ray Davies - the ex-husband of Pretender Chrissie Hynde- is working on will have quite a few New Jersey ties. Davies is working with Bruce Springsteen on a version of "Better Things," and Bon Jovi will perform "Celluloid Heroes" with Davies, according to our friends at Rolling Stone. See, I told you it was a Jersey thing.

Other artists who are rumored to be Davies' collaborators include Billy Corgan, Spoon, Frank Black and Lucinda Williams. It has yet to be determined if the collaboration album will feature only Kinks' covers or if Davies' solo material will be included on it as well. The as-yet-untitled album is due out before the end of the year.

Are you interested in hearing the Ray Davies collaboration album? Are you excited about him working with Jersey boys like Springsteen and Jovi?
