Reuters reports that Yoko Ono has, for the first time ever, granted permission for the first collection of letters by John Lennon to be published and printed, publisher Little, Brown and Company said in a statement. That's a major coup, given Ono's taut control over Lennon's personal estate.
The Lennon Letters will be published in October 2012 and will include hundreds of letters and postcards the singer/Beatle wrote to friends, family, newspapers and organizations. What a written body of work that must be!
It will be edited by British journalist Hunter Davies, who wrote the only authorized biography of The Beatles. The letters will be arranged in chronological order, in order to give an overview of different periods and era's in the legend's life.
