The National To Release 12" Grateful Dead Tribute Featuring Grizzly Bear And TV On The Radio

4AD will be releasing another Grateful Dead tribute featuring "covers from The National, Grizzly Bear's Daniel Rossen and Christopher Bear, TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Lee Ranaldo, and more," reports Pitchfork. Back on May 20th, Day of the Dead, a 50-song box set of Grateful Dead covers by a veritable 'who's who of indie rock' was released by 4AD. The Day of the Dead 12" is set to be released on August 2nd.
The National's Aaron and Bryce Dessner curated Day of the Dead, and among the list of contributors are Courtney Barnett, Wilco, the Flaming Lips, Kurt Vile and J Mascis, Justin Vernon, Anhoni, War on Drugs, Sharon van Etten, Grizzly Bear's Daniel Rossen and Christopher Bear, Real Estate, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Jenny Lewis, Perfume Genius, My Morning Jacket's Jim James, TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe, Bill Callahan, the Walkmen, Stephen Malkmus, Phosphorescent, Angel Olsen, Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo, Yo La Tengo's Ira Kaplan, Cass McCombs, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, and Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry.
