NYC-based rock band The NowhereNauts are back in the studio working on their second full-length album with producers Kevin March (The Dambuilders, Guided by Voices and Shudder to Think) and Carl Glanville (U2, Tigerland).
The album set for release in Spring 2012. The second album showcases the band's versatility, talent and growth as musicians. Their debut self-titled studio album, also produced by March, was released in May 2011 and met with critical acclaim.
When speaking about the upcoming album and the recording process, March stated, "While working in the studio with The NowhereNauts, we're allowing them to lay down a very solid foundation for us to capture the raw emotion of the songs in the basic tracks. We have recorded quality demos of each song and now we are taking the fidelity to a much higher level; the level of a classic album. We decided to record certain parts of the album at Sear Sound in NYC to use the Neve 8038 custom board, that the late WalterSear put his heart and soul into, It is also exciting to bring the band into this environment where many great musicians have recorded like John Lennon, David Bowie and more. The NowhereNauts have amazing songs and that is the most important element of any great band, we are now making them sound great for the rest of the world to hear!"
The NowhereNauts are a New York City based rock outfit made up of band members Anders Kapur (bass), Hunter Lombard (Guitarist), Sofie Kapur (vocals) and Tony Franco (drums). The band began their musical journey in their early teens playing many New York City music venues including The Knitting Factory, Cake Shop, The Living Room and The Bowery Ballroom, where they opened for legendary art-punks Shudder to Think.
Any The NowhereNauts fans out there?
