Irish hip-hop trio The Original Rudeboys declined an offer to open for R&B singer Chris Brown in Dublin because of his 2009 assault conviction after he beat the crap out of his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
The group was offered the chance to open for Brown at his upcoming show at the O2 Arena in their native Dublin on December 3, but they said, "Thanks, but not thanks" because they do not want it to seem like they are down with his actions of a few years ago and since they just released a song about the subject of domestic violence.
Bandmate Sean Walsh told Irish TV station RTE, "Even though it's a huge opportunity to play in the O2 with a major hip-hop star and a substantial fee was offered, we are completely against Chris Brown's assault on Rihanna…In addition, with our latest single 'Blue Eyes' being about domestic violence, it goes against everything we are about as a band and supporting Chris Brown would send out the wrong message to our fans."
Wow, that's very cool of them to stick to their guns and miss out on a major opp such as this.
Do you think that the group made the right choice by turning down the chance open for Breezy?
