The Posies, who are currently on a U.S. tour with co-headliner Brendan Benson in support of their latest album Blood/Candy, will act up and join the fight against AIDS in a national campaign with LifeBEAT and Borders. On December 1, 2010 --which is World AIDS Day so break out your red ribbons and fasten them to your jacket lapels-- The Posies will perform live and sign CDs at Denver's main Borders store, where 25% of the album proceeds, along with Borders' merchandise (with presentation of a December One voucher available at www.lifebeat.org/borders), will be donated to LifeBEAT, the non-profit organization that uses the power of music to help educate young people about HIV/AIDS prevention. Artists, authors and celebrities will make appearances at Borders across the country to support this cause.

The Posies said in a statement that they "are proud to keep AIDS awareness in the front of public consciousness and help broadcast the need for governments, organizations and the public to commit resources in support of the tens of millions of people living with HIV around the world."
