The Raconteurs join previously announced headliners Soundgarden and Blink-182 at the top of the bill for THE VOODOO EXPERIENCE PRESENTED BY STEPHEN REHAGE. In addition, TV On The Radio and Fatboy Slim are the latest additions in the ever-expanding line-up that's being revealed exclusively via regular announcements utilizing the VOODOO website and Facebook and Twitter feeds.
This announcement reveal is new for VOODOO's annual Halloween weekend musical celebration in New Orleans' City Park, set for Friday, October 28th Saturday, October 29th and Sunday, October 30th. Through this process, VOODOO is supporting each act on the bill equally and also engaging the audience in a daily interactive dialog that furthers the musical exploration that is inherently a part of the music festival landscape.
The 2011 VOODOO line-up so far is as follows: Soundgarden; Blink-182; The Raconteurs; Snoop Dogg; Girl Talk; Fatboy Slim; TV On The Radio; My Chemical Romance; Cheap Trick; Social Distortion; Ray Davies; Odd Future; Major Lazer; Z-Trip; X; Dr. John and the Lower 911; Kreayshawn; Ozomatli; Fitz & the Tantrums; The Wombats; Portugal. The Man; City and Colour; Mates of State; Stone Foxes; A-Trak; Givers; Mike Relm; Peelander-Z; Lost Bayou Ramblers with Gordon Gano of Violent Femmes; Members of Morphine with Jeremy Lyons; Star Eyes; Soul Rebels Brass Band; Bobby Rush; Red Baraat; Morning 40 Federation; New Orleans Bingo! Show; and Fleur de Tease.
VOODOO's annual musical celebration is on display through its three unique performance areas: Le Plur, VOODOO's dance space which celebrates an amazing list of electronic talent from around the world; Le Ritual where the main stage worships the music of the world's most renowned artists; and Le Flambeau's two performance spots (Preservation Hall Tent and the WWOZ Stage) which honor the roots and history of New Orleans music and its inspiration on others. Each of VOODOO's individual performance areas is enhanced by the use of interactive art set amid City Park's lush lagoons, bayous and one of the largest collections of mature oak trees in the world.
