According to guitarist Ronnie Wood, The Rolling Stones are planning to release a new album and it may come as early as this year, reports the Associated Press. Wood said the band has been in the studio, "We went in to cut some new songs, which we did, but we got on a blues streak. We cut 11 blues in two days."... "They are extremely great cover versions of Howlin' Wolf and Little Walter, among other blues people. But they really sound authentic." When asked about when we could expect a new album, Wood told the Associated Press, "This year."
The Rolling Stones last release Bigger Bang back in 2005. The band last single, "One More Shot," debuted back in January of 2013 off their 50th anniversary greatest hits album, GRRR!. This upcoming studio album will be the 30th released by The Rolling Stones.
The Rolling Stones just finished up a tour of Latin America with a free show in Cuba. It was the band’s first tour of the region in over a decade. They played 14 shows in total making stops in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay, and finished with their first ever show in Havana, Cuba. There have been no announcements about future tour dates, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see a few shows pop up, especially if the new album ends up being released this year.
