Falling in line with months of insider reports, The Rolling Stones have finalized a new record deal with Universal Music Group and left behind their longtime label EMI. All of the Stones' albums from Sticky Fingers on are covered in the contract—digital and physical versions, too—with Polydor handling all future worldwide recordings.
Universal first worked with Mick, Keith and company on the soundtrack to Shine a Light, the Martin Scorsese documentary that's due out on DVD this Tuesday, July 29. Warner Music, EMI and Sony BMG had previously handled the band's catalog between 1971 and 1990, with Virgin taking over for the group's last three studio records.
