The Roots Team Up With John Legend

The Roots have recruited John Legend and My Morning Jacket's Jim James to guest on How I Got Over, their long-awaited and much-delayed new album. The Roots serve as the house band for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, as well as the back up band on John Legend's new album, hence the delay. Billboard broke the news about the album's guest list.
Joanna Newsom also appears on the record…sort of. The band samples Newsom's "Book of Righ-On," which appears on The Milk-Eyed Mender. She has not recorded with the band, as had been reported; they just borrowed from her via a sample.
The release date for How I Got Over is undetermined, but it's said that it will be in 2010.
Have The Roots jumped the sharked by taking on too many day jobs and not releasing music?
