Savannah Stopover Music Festival is a three-day festival taking place the weekend prior to SXSW, in Savannah's famed historic district.
Savannah Stopover Music Festival launched in 2011 with the intention to give bands en route to SXSW, the right set of circumstances to "stopover" in Savannah to perform in the midst of the South's most beautiful, vibrant, and creative small city. Today, Savannah Stopover Music Festival has evolved into one of the most significant emerging music festivals in the United States.
From a thing to do on the way to SXSW to THE thing to do on the way to SXSW.
In addition to over 80 national touring artists, Savannah Stopover will also host three showcases from Savannah-based labels; Retro Futurist (the new label started by Savannah's Kylesa), Furious Hooves Records and Soft Science Records. Local Savannah artists performing throughout the festival include Triathalon, Bear Fight!, mumble dust, The Accomplices, City Hotel, The Rosies, Fare The Gap, Whiskey Dick, Sauna Heat, Missionary Blues, Co-Eds, Damon and the Shitkickers, Crazy Bag Lady, Ambrose, J.
