The Iggy Pop-fronted The Stooges have been forced to give their upcoming US tour the boot...for now!
The Stooges are postponing their upcoming US tour so pin thin frontman Iggy Pop can recover from a broken foot he sustained during a concert last month! Iggy broke two bones in his left foot while performing at the Peninsula Festival in Romania on Aug 27. Despite the pain, he didn't stop performing.
The singer eventually visited a specialist to receive treatment when he could no longer deal with the pain. Doctors have prescribed six-to-eight weeks of bed rest so the busted bones can heal. The Stooges tour was set to begin today!
Iggy Pop issued a statement about the matter, saying: "I hate this, I hate like hell to cancel or postpone anything. I only saw the doctor because it hurt so fucking much and I couldn't fix it myself." That's what we call dedication to rock 'n' roll.
The expected rescheduled dates will be as follows:
Los Angeles - Hollywood Palladium - December 1, 2011
San Francisco - The Warfield - December 4, 2011
San Francisco - The Warfield - December 6, 2011
A Las Vegas date is yet to be determined.
