The White Stripes are being sued by former Quebec radio host Dominique Payette for $70,000. Payette alleges that The White Stripes sampled a piece of her radio show without permission on a track called "Jumble Jumble" from their second full-length release entitled De Stijl. The track is of her speaking in French. She claims that the band violated her privacy, and she's filed suit agains the band, their old label Third Man Records, and BMG Music Publishing Canada.

Furthermore Payette has sought an injunction to remove the record from stores completely.
