Roddy Piper Videos
Universal has commissioned a remake of the much beloved underground 1988 John Carpenter horror flick, They Live.
Strike Entertainment is currently negotiating with Les Mougins to acquire the remake's rights, which Mougins currently owns. Once those rights issues are officially sorted out, Carpenter will executive produce the project. The original film followed a construction worker, played by kilt-wearing WWF wrestler Roddy Piper, who uncovers a pair of glasses that allow him to see aliens walking among humans. He eventually races to stop the aliens from taking over humanity. A writer for the new version has yet to be hired and there has been no revelation of what plot details will be kept and/or changed.
Strike Entertainment is also working on a remake of a remake of The Thing, which Carpenter directed in 1982. Carpenter's 1982 version was a remake of a 1951 film of the same name. Looks like history will repeat itself...twice.
