A variety of new albums hit the shelves and airwaves this week, with stunning releases from all over the music map. Ty Segall released his much-anticipated eighth solo LP, Emotional Mugger (Drag City), Eleanor Friedberger debuted the easygoing New View (Frenchkiss), and Chairlift lit a flame with its third studio album, Moth (Columbia Records).

Sting's daughter, Eliot Sumner, released her haunting, Krautrock-influenced second album, Information (Island Records), and the first under her own name. (Eliot discussed the album's dark moments and influences with us in this new interview.)

Steve Angello released Wild Youth (SIZE Records), and revealed what he's been up to since the break up of Swedish House Mafia and released his first solo album in over a decade in our recent interview.

Meanwhile, Savages ravaged eardrums with Adore Life (Matador Records), its sophomore LP. Thrash metal journeymen Megadeth put out their fifteenth studio album, Dystopia (Tradecraft). And that was only the beginning for a week that also saw releases from Suede, Tortoise, Coasts, and Bonnie "Prince" Billy.
