A couple major albums hit the shelves and 'waves this week. Rihanna finally dropped the long-awaited ANTI, and managed to keep it a surprise. Sia's released her highly anticipated seventh studio album, This Is Acting, and ARTISTdirect put together a list of some of our favorite quotes. Massive Attack unveiled its first record in over half a decade, Ritual Spirit EP. The band formerly known as the Morning Benders, released their second album, Souvenir, under the name POP ETC.
Reincarnations of former indie rock giants didn't shy away from releasing big albums this week either. Bloc Party debuted its first album with a new lineup, the band's fifth LP, Hymns. Walter Martin of the currently-on-hiatus the Walkmen debuted his sophomore record, Art & Leisure. The intelligent and challenging Saul Williams put out his sixth studio record, MartyrLoserKing. Meanwhile, Emily Wells dropped by ARTISTdirect to talk about her new album Promise, before its release today. And that was only the beginning for a week that saw releases from all over the music map.
