As the dust finally settles on what has been a transcendent week in the world of music, we were finally gifted some of the biggest albums of the year so far. Elton John released his 32nd studio album, Wonderful Crazy Night. Wiz Khalifa took time away from his feud with Kanye West to drop his sixth studio LP, Khalifa. Brooklyn darlings DIIV finally debuted their much-anticipated sophomore record, Is This Is Are. The slow working, but always churning Lucinda Williams put out the burning The Ghosts of Highway 20. And Young Thug debuted his follow up mixtape to Slime Season 2, entitled I'm Up.

It wasn't all about the big boys and girls, however, as some not-as-well-known-yet artists took to the waves, premiering some fantastic music. KING impress with the smooth R&B on We Are KING, Mt. Si, composed of Sarah Chernoff, Jesse Kivel, and Michael David, who all worked together on the first Classixx album, put out some ethereal beach-drone-pop with the Limits EP. Ontario-based Junior Boys danced out the genuinely sexy yet introspective Big Black Coat, their first album in five years. Towkio dropped .Wav Theory mixtape featuring some excellent tracks with Chance the Rapper. And that was only the beginning for a week that saw a slew of new album hit the waves and shelves.
