From the bizarre button eyes of David Bowie's "Lazarus" to Coldplay's grainy and color-filled "Birds," the first week of January welcomed a variety of new music videos. Taylor Swift was chased by wolves in her new video for "Out of the Woods." Yeasayer's "I Am Chemistry" brought sculptures to life and made them dance. Savages released the minimalist and tension-filled "Adore," and Esperanza Spalding erupted within a kaleidoscope on "Good Lava." Check out the week in videos below:

    David Bowie - "Lazarus"

Directed by Johan Renck, the delightfully strange video for David Bowie's "Lazarus" features scenes of the legend laid up in a hospital bed with gauze-wrapped eyes, writing a letter, and grasping the air, among other things. Bowie's new album Blackstar, was released January 8th.

    Coldplay - "Birds"

Marcus Haney directed the coarse and vibrant video for Coldplay's "Birds," which was shot at Salvation Mountain in California. The paint-covered hill was created by late artist Leonard Knight. Coldplay's A Head Full of Dreams was released December 4th, 2015.

Taylor Swift - "Out of the Woods"

Dressed in a short, ice blue dress, Taylor Swift is chased by wolves through majestic settings in her video for "Out of the Woods." The video was directed by Joseph Kahn. "Out of the Woods" is the sixth single off 2014's 1989.

    Yeasayer - "I Am Chemistry"

Yeasayer's video for "I Am Chemistry" brings David Altmejd sculptures to life. The track features vocals from Suzzy Roche of the Roches, and Yeasayer's new album Amen & Goodbye is due out April 1.

    Savages - "Adore"

Tense and minimalistic, Savages' video for "Adore," directed by Anders Malmberg, plays with light and shadows to create a brooding companion for the raging track. Savages' second album, Adore Life, is out January 22nd.

    Esperanza Spalding - "Good Lava"

Esperanza Spalding's video for "Good Lava" features the singer-songwriter exploring the colorful, psychedelic world within a kaleidoscope. Her upcoming album, Emily's D+Evolution, is due March 4th from Concord Records.
