Three Days Grace "Chalk Outline" Song Review — 4.5 out of 5 stars

Three Days Grace draw an infectious and heavy anthem in "Chalk Outline".
The group's new single from the forthcoming Transit of Venus, due out October 2, buzzes with airy distortion and warbling textures before building into one of their catchiest hooks yet—"You left me there like a chalk outline, waiting for the rain to wash away".
Singer and guitarist Adam Gontier carries the refrain with impeccable delivery just before Barry Stock lights up a staggering lead. The pounding rhythms from drummer Neil Sanderson and bassist Brad Walst set the stage for arena-size bombast. All of these elements cascade together to shine brilliant light on Venus and Three Days Grace's natural evolution.
This is one of the band's best cuts ever, and it raises the excitement even more for us to fall into Venus's orbit.
