On Wednesday, March 21, dance music's biggest names "kicked off" Miami Music Week with a soccer game at the Fontainebleau Hotel and Resort that matched DJ Tiësto and Team Netherlands against Sebastian Ingrosso and Team Sweden. Each team played in the signature colors of their country and wore a custom jersey made especially by Adidas for the event. This highly competitive match went back and forth, but in the end, it was Tiësto and his Netherlands mates that hoisted the trophy with a 13-11 victory – earning supreme bragging rights as DJ soccer champions.
Now, the custom jerseys, signed and worn by the DJs themselves, are being auctioned along with select cleats and the official soccer ball used in the game to raise funds for (RED), in partnership with global online charity auction house www.Charitybuzz.com. The auction is open to bidders internationally through April 17 at here and proceeds will benefit the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa.
