Tom DeLonge has teased a new Angels & Airwaves album. The announcement came via the former Blink 182 guitarist's Instagram. He posted a photo of himself fronting the band with the caption, "@angelsandairwaves new album in the works…."
DeLonge left Blink 182 in 2015 and was replaced by Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba. However, it seems like a reunion may be in the works since he patched things up with drummer Travis Barker. "Blink is in my DNA. I talk to Travis quite a bit and we try and figure out how and when it's going to make sense," the guitarist said.
Meanwhile, DeLonge has been keeping himself busy by researching UFOs. He released a book called Sekret Machines on the subject that blended Sci-Fi with accounts of purported UFO sightings and abductions and told Mic: "Dealing with something that's a national security issue, and you're being gifted with the opportunity to communicate something you've been passionate about your whole life — something that has the opportunity to change the world over time — being a small part of that is enormously important for my life path.
"But I can't do everything. I can't tour nine months out of the year with enough time to do the enormity of what I'm setting out to do."
Nonetheless, it seems like he has been able to free up some time to work on new music. There is still no other information regarding the album available at this time. We will keep you updated as this story unfolds.
