Top Albums of the Week - February 6 - 12

In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple months, Kanye West released his new album this week, The Life of Pablo, but there were a variety of other noteworthy albums unveiled as well. The Jezabels released their stunning, honest, and raw third album, Synthia. Lissie debuted the spacious and California-inspired My Wild West. You Say Party released their surprisingly soothing self-titled LP.
Out of the albums that hit shelves and airwaves this week, these are our favorites:
Kanye West - The Life of Pablo - GOOD Music, Roc-A-Fella, Def Jam
It’s been everywhere and now it’s finally here. We could say a million things about the album or the press circus that has surrounded its release, but we’d rather let the music speak for itself. Or you could always check out some pearls straight from Yeezus’ mouth.
The Skiffle Players - Skifflin’ - Spiritual Pajamas
Anytime Cass McCombs puts something out, at the very least it deserves a listen. Sometimes light-hearted and at other moments hauntingly beautiful, the California-based songwriter’s new psychedelic alt-country group hits all the right notes on its first album Skifflin’.
Wynonna & The Big Noise - Wynonna & The Big Noise - Curb Records
The long awaited return from one of country’s biggest stars, Wynonna Judd, is finally here. Her big voice (and big red hair) hasn’t gone anywhere and she sounds as magical as ever on tracks like “Things That I Lean On.” Hopefully, we won’t have to wait 13 years for another album.
