Fri, 18 Mar 2016 13:41:37
Everyone might be in Austin, Texas right now, but that hasn't stopped artists from releasing a slew of new songs perfect for getting you through your friend's SXSW Instagram feeds. ILOVEMAKONNEN dropped "Solo" off his just released mixtape Drink More Water 6. The Deftones have a new album due out April 8th, and this week saw them release the second single from the record, "Doomed User."
Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj popped her head back into the pop scene joining Bebe Rexha on her new track, "No Broken Hearts," which will surely be heard in clubs the world over throughout the weekend. Zayn, the former One Direction bad boy, released the third track, "BeFoUr," off his upcoming debut record. The Mountain Goats reminded us of just how spectacular of story tellers they are with "Going Back To California." And that was only the beginning for a week that saw a variety of spectacular tracks come from all over the music sphere.
Empress Of - "Woman Is A Word"
There isn't much more we can say about Empress Of. Lorely Rodriguez is a sparkling talent, a gifted songwriter, and she knows how to make music that is sexy and gets you on your feet. "Woman Is A Word" does all of that, but says so much more.
M83 - "Solitude"
M83's new album Junk is due out April 8th via Mute Records. The second track released off the album, "Solitude," is full of dramatic strings, layered vocals, and seems lost in infinite space.
Baauer - "Temple" [ft. M.I.A. and G-Dragon]
Baauer is officially back, his debut studio LP, Aa, dropped today. This week he released the second single from the record, "Temple," where he teams up with M.I.A. and G-Dragon to bring us a martial arts-infused dance track that kicks… well you know.
