Top Songs Of The Week - March 5-11
Fri, 11 Mar 2016 17:04:25
It was another great week for music, with songs debuting in every genre. Some old favorites returned after a long time away, and a few new bands with familiar faces also put out new tunes. MSTRKRFT released their first song in five years, "Little Red Hen," reminding us of what we've been missing. Dan Auerbach's current project, The Arcs, released a rockin' cover of the Bobby Parker classic "Watch Your Step." PJ Harvey is due to unveil her first album in five years, The Hope Six Demolition Project, and she released the album's second single, "The Community of Hope."
Gwen Stefani has been everywhere recently, but that isn't stopping her from releasing new music, this week she gifted us "Misery." Bat for Lashes is due to release their fourth album in July, and this week they dropped "In God's House." And hip hop duo Rae Sremmurd released "Doggin." And that was only the beginning for a week that saw new songs come from everywhere.
Here are our favorites:
White Denim - "Had 2 Know (Personal)"
Texas heroes White Denim release the kind of rockin', groovin' tracks that always lift you up just at the right time. "Had 2 Know (Personal)" is just that kind of track and is getting us more and more excited for the release of their upcoming album, Stiff.
Peter Bjorn and John - "What You Talking About?"
Swedish indie pop trio Peter Bjorn and John are back with one of their catchiest tunes since Writer's Block. And if this is what we can expect from their newest record, we can't wait to hear the entire thing.
Ariana Grande - "Dangerous Woman"
Ariana Grande just released "Dangerous Woman" the title track and lead single from her upcoming album. The song is sexy, sultry and just the kind of track we need to remind us summer is just around the corner..
