Top Ten Most Anticipated 2014 Hard Rock & Metal Albums: Slayer
Mon, 06 Jan 2014 16:35:43
"Slayer's coming," Les Claypool used to announce in a creepy voice during OZZfest 1999 when Primus preceded the thrash titans.
It was an ominous little declaration that properly heralded metal's most fearsome and formidable foursome. Good news for 2014. Slayer's coming. Now, Kerry King has been hard at work penning riffs for the band's mega-anticipated eleventh studio album for quite some time now. However, it looks like the band's first album since the tragic passing of Jeff Hanneman will surface sometime this year. Last fall when Slayer hit the road with Paul Bostaph back behind the kit and Gary Holt rocking in Hanneman's hallowed spot, the shows were nothing short of marvelously and majestically apocalyptic—what else could a fan ask for? Slayer know how important it is to deliver a powerful blow with this record, and they'll undoubtedly do so.
Slayer's coming. Beware because the brutality throne will not be abdicated.
