Ashland HIGH, the new band of Miley Cyrus' older brother Trace Cyrus, have announced their first two shows ever! The band will be making their debut on Feb. 24 at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA. They will then be taking the stage again on Feb. 26 at The Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood, CA. Runner Runner will be direct support for both dates.
Formerly of pop rock band Metro Station, Trace has taken his musical experience and put everything he knows into Ashland HIGH. Consisting of pop, dub step, R&B and rock, this project put Trace behind all aspects of the production where he wrote the lyrics and sings all the vocals.
Wanting to give back to his fans for the support they have shown him through the years, Trace decided he wanted to give his entire album away for free download, which he did on New Year's Eve. Already seeing over 150,000 downloads, he knows it was the right decision. Simultaneously while giving away the album, he launched the video for the first single "Jealous Lover" which was shot in various locations around Venice Beach and can be seen here.
Trace has been recording songs as Ashland HIGH for the past two years all around California, Canada, Nashville, Venice beach and has now made over 100 songs. All the songs from "Geronimo" were recorded at the end of Nov 2011 within 9 days at Trace's home studio and were edited and put online one month later on New Year's Eve. Leading off with the first single called "Jealous Lover" the song is about a couple that misses out on true love. It is about how "it is so easy to always fight and be jealous when you should just be happy and in love," says Cyrus.
Any So Cal fans wanna join me at Ashland HIGH's debut gigs in our fair region of the country?
