Travie McCoy got BUUUUUSSSSTTTTTTEEEEEDDDD! The singer was arrested in Germany after he sprayed graffiti on the Berlin Wall and bragged about it on Twitter. I always say Twitter is the new press release and the replacement for the celebrity publicist, as it connects artists with their fans on a direct level, but in this case, it became incriminating!
McCoy tagged one of last remnants of the historic wall at Berlin's East Side Gallery on Wednesday night. The artist was in town for a gig at Berlin's Magnet Club and he announced his plans to leave his mark on the [former] wall on his Twitter feed, writing "The Berlin wall. I'm def gettin up on this before we leave tonight!!!"
After the graffiti attack, which was McCoy's name in blue-bubble letters, he went as far as to post pictures of his work, which is, you know, evidence! Travie, honey, what were you thinking? Oh wait. You weren't, unless of course, you wanted to get caught.
Police took McCoy and a 28-year-old accomplice into custody. He was later released on approximately $2,000 in bail and headed to Amsterdam to continue his European tour.
Do you think McCoy's posting of his actions on Twitter was dumb?
