Phish singer Trey Anastasio is going Ivy League. On Thursday, November 18, Anastasio will perform at Princeton University's Alexander Hall in the historic Richardson Auditorium, an intimate venue that is renowned for its remarkable acoustics. Anastasio will perform songs from throughout his career. The Scorchio Quintet, which supported Anastasio at the Tibet House benefit shows, will back him on select songs.
String arrangements for The Scorchio Quintet will be by celebrated composer/arranger Don Hart, one of Anastasio's longtime collaborators. Hart arranged material from Anastasio's Seis de Mayo album for a performance at the 2004 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. Thereafter the pair collaborated on Anastasio's Shine (2005), Bar 17 (2006) and 18 Steps (2006), and co-composed Time Turns Elastic, a classical piece that has been performed by Orchestra Nashville, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic and recorded by The Northwest Sinfonia, conducted by David Sabee.
Anastasio is so much more than a jam band frontman! This event looks to be super intimate and exclusive, so if you attend Princeton or live anywhere near the academic institution, then you should certainly check it out.
Tickets for "An Acoustic Evening with Trey Anastasio" are on sale now. Check out the Richardson Auditorium seating chart here. Tickets are $50 each. The concert will begin at 8 PM on November 18.
