Tupac Shakur Broadway Show Closing

Bummer. The Tupac Shakur Broadway musical Holler If Ya Hear Me is closing due to low ticket sales and lack of interest. Boo! It was a great idea on paper and in execution, but it failed to find an audience.
The show is based on the music of the slain rapper and is staged at NYC's Palace Theater. Starring Saul Williams, the production opened in June, but will close on Sunday, July 20th.
Producer Eric L. Gold stated, "We are so proud to be a part of this ground breaking production. My hope is that a production of this caliber, powerful in its storytelling, filled with great performances and exciting contemporary dance and music, will eventually receive the recognition it deserves. It saddens me that due to the financial burdens of Broadway, I was unable to sustain this production longer in order to give it time to bloom on Broadway. Tupac's urgent socially important insights and the audiences' nightly rousing standing ovations deserve to be experienced by the world."
Total bum out! It closes in a few days, so if you are in NYC, a Tupac fan and a theater buff, why not see it before it's gone?
