U2 bassist Adam Clayton is suing the Bank of Ireland Private Banking as well as an accounting firm, claiming that his former personal assistant misappropriated almost $7 million of his funds. Ouch!

The Irish Independent reports that Clayon is accusing Carol Hawkins of pocketing money over a five-year period ending in November 2009. The suit names the Bank of Ireland as well as Dublin accounting firm Gaby Smyth & Co.

He is seeking nearly $7 million in damages from the bank and $7 million from the accounting firm, for "alleged negligence and breach of contract."

Hawkins was charged last year with 184 counts under the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offenses) Act 2001.

    That's a lot of scratch.

What is your favorite U2 song?
