Forbes has revealed that U2 were the highest-earning group in the world last year, placing first on the magazine's Top Earning Musicians of 2010 list.
U2 earned $130million between June 2009 and June 2010, even though they were forced to table their summer tour when frontman Bono hurt his back and was forced to endure emergency surgery when rehearsing for the trek!
Other artists on the list include AC/DC, who roared into the list's second place spot with earnings of $114 million. Bruce Springsteen came in fourth place, with $70 million. Beyonce and Britney Spears also placed in the top five, while Lady Gaga came in seventh place, pulling in $61 million. She placed ahead of Madonna, in what looks like an inevitable changing of the guard.
So while the music business continues to crumble since no one buys CDs anymore, touring artists are certainly continuing to turn impressive profits.
Which is your favorite artist in this list? So in essence, which artist's pockets are you lining?
