The VH1 Save The Music Foundation and G-Team, the philanthropic arm of Groupon, announced the launch of a digital campaign to help the Foundation's mission of restoring instrumental music education in our nation's public schools. The VH1 Save The Music Foundation has partnered with G-Team based on its ability to gather support for worthwhile causes and skill to produce tangible results for participating organizations. Sounds like a worthwhile and productive partnership has been forged.
The G-Team campaign with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation will be available on Groupon New York, Long Island, North Jersey, Fairfield County and Westchester County's G-Team page beginning on Tuesday and continuing through tomorrow. G-Team campaigns are live on Groupon for 72 hours, giving subscribers time to learn about the campaign and make appropriate contributions thereafter. Utilizing G-Team's action model, Groupon followers can pledge support for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation's G-Team campaign and 100% percent of the proceeds will be used to support the Foundation.
"We are thrilled to partner with Groupon's G-Team and greatly appreciate all of their support," said Paul Cothran, Executive Director of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. "Together we are working to ensure that all students throughout the country receive the benefits of music study and are continuing to raise awareness about the need for music education programs in our nation's public schools."
Through strategic partnerships with school districts, the VH1 Save The Music Foundation provides brand-new musical instruments to public elementary and middle schools, jump-starting dormant music programs across the country. The school districts commit to funding certified music teachers' salaries, providing maintenance and supplies, and scheduling instrumental music classes during the school day. The Foundation maintains a partnership with the district until instrumental music is in place in every school. Since its inception in 1997, the VH1 Save The Music Foundation has provided $48 million in new musical instruments to 1,800 public schools in more than 100 cities around the country, impacting the lives of over 1.8 million children.
Every G-Team campaign connects organizations with enough people to achieve something great and make a difference in our communities and the VH1 Save The Music Foundation's Campaign will serve as yet another example, bringing our nation one step closer to restoring instrumental music education.
