Get the scoop on this counter-culture period piece video.

Want to know some of the real story behind Death From Above 1979's video for "Virgins" from the latest album The Physical World? Well, they are our Artist of the Week and they gave us the inside scoop on the video, which was directed by singer Sebastien Grainger's wife Eva Michon. She is clearly influenced by that legendary auteur Stanley Kubrick, which you will notice via her long shots.

"Taking it to almost a societal level, what is the idea of a perfect society?," Grainger said to us. "We watched a documentary called, Devil's Playground about 'The Amish Kings,' which was the period we were depicting in the video. It kind of came about in a multitude of different ways, but overall is a fun way to tell the story. Some of that definitely influenced what goes down in the clip."

With all of that input and info in mind, turn your attention to Death From Above 1979's "Virgins" video. Are you picking up what they are putting down?
