The LA-based rock band offers a live performance video from their self-titled album.
Ivory Deville's second single from their self-titled debut is "Drags" and the video is now available for viewing.
First things first. Ivory Deville is a band - not a person.
Singer Johnny Elkins gave us the inside scoop about "Drags," saying, "My grandpa used to do a beautiful version of 'Stardust' on the guitar when I was a kid. I was trying to remember how to play it one day. It didn't quite come out right, but I had also been listening to a lot of Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan and Eddie Cochran at the time, and somehow those influences, along with the failed attempt at 'Stardust,' coalesced into this song 'Drags.'"
Elkins continued, "This is the last of four live performance videos we shot, and we chose this song in part because it requires a certain amount of passion for us all to deliver it properly, so why not catch that on camera, you know? I mean, it's not sentimental or anything, but at the core it's really quite a pleading and desperate song - and I think the crew did a great job of creating and capturing that vibe. I had a moment where I looked over at the Tia and Laura, and they were belting their hearts out under those lights, and I sort became dislodged from space and time and just thought 'Damn.'"
