Hey, budding artists and graphic designers! Have we got an opp for you.
The summer of 2013 marks the 25th anniversary of the formation of Sublime and to mark this occasion, Sublime, UMe, and Creative Allies have launched a logo design competition.
While the band's iconic old English typeface and sun logo have become synonymous with the famed group, Sublime are calling on their fans to design a "blissful" and "fresh" 25th anniversary logo to represent the trio of late frontman/guitarist/songwriter Bradley Nowell, bassist Eric Wilson and drummer Bud Gaugh.
That's a TALL ORDER, since the Sublime logo is so iconic and recognizable, but we know that there are talented folks out there who could tackle this update.
Designers will be judged by their peers andSublime's "inner circle," with the winner receiving $500 and a Sublime prize pack.
To join the competition, designers should visit: Creative Allies to register and review the contest rules.
On the site page, fans can check out classic Sublime logo elements as well as listen to tracks from 3-Ring Circus: Live at the Palace – October 21, 1995. All entries need to be received by September 17. After a six-week fan review window, Sublime's "inner circle" will select the winning logo. That designer will receive $500, plus the deluxe editions of Sublime and 3-Ring Circus, Robbin' the Hood on vinyl, and a copy of Everything Under the Sun.
Remember, the contest runs through September 17.
Anyone plan to enter? Fans that aren't artistically inclined but are interested, what type of logo would you like to see?
