For Clash of the Titans
Warner Bros. Wooing Sam Worthington
Warner Brothers is wooing actor Sam Worthington to star in its update of Clash of the Titans. Producers want the Aussie-born actor to take the role of Perseus, the son of Greek god Zeus, who was last played by Harry Hamlin in the 1981 version of the film. The film will focus on Perseus as he battles Medusa. The studio, in conjunction with Legendary Pictures, expects that the film will begin production in late winter or early spring.
In other Greek god-related film news, Henry Cavill of Showtime's The Tudors is in negotiations to play Greek god Theseus in War of the Gods.
