Got 10 minutes? To be transported to Athens, Georgia? Of course you do.
It's time to be American made. Sort of.
Noisey has dropped the Athens Episode of the Made in America series, lensed by acclaimed filmmaker and music video director Lance Bangs, who is married to former Sleater-Kinney singer Corin Tucker, for all those keeping score at home.
This is the fifth in the series, during which Noisey and Budweiser travel the country to speak with world famous and locally-adored artists.
With the Seattle, Denver, Minnesota, and St. Louis episodes of Made in America under their belt, Noisey and Budweiser headed to Athens, Georgia to explore a small college town that has spawned world famous artists, including R.E.M., The B-52s, Danger Mouse, Neutral Milk Hotel and Of Montreal.
For insight into the thriving music scene, they sat down with R.E.M.'s Peter Buck, joined Pylon's Michael Lachowski at his home art studio, took a hike around a quasi-commune for Athens artists with Dream Boat and spoke with Patterson Hood of the Drive-By Truckers, Reptar, Andrew Reiger of Elf Power, Rob Schnieder of The Apples in Stereo, Five-Eight, and Shade.
Watch that shit below. And by "shit," we mean awesomeness.
